TÚ SOLO Y YO QUEDAMOS / YOU ALONE AND ME WE STAY

Is there such a thing – an artistic echo to the catastrophe of the Ukraine war? How does advanced art music position itself in this question? And what mobilises music in the face of an archaic outbreak of violence? – These are questions that affect and have affected the compositions in this concert. More than that: they have generated them. Each of them wants to be understood as an answer, however impotent it may be. It is about listening, about listening. To four composers, the majority of whom are contemporary composers: Juan Allende-Blin, Zygmunt Krauze, Ludmila Yurina and Tona Scherchen-Hsiao. How does art speak to our helplessness?
