“I am looking for a human being in the opera, his character, demeanor and emotions. Singing is here to multiplex experiences and emotional conflicts of particular characters. This is such a kind of the opera, where role of the theatre element is equally important to the music layer. Music is subordinated to the words. Olympia of Gdansk, similarily to 5 previous operas of mine (The Star, Balthasar, Yvonne, the Princess of Burgundy, Polieukt and The Trap) continues the stream of a drama-theatre opera in my creation”
