The musical content of this album consists of the contemporary vocal-instrumental chamber music of renowned Polish composers. The vocal literature of this particular genre is scarce and the existing compositions are rarely performed. The following album presents four unique compositions of Tadeusz Baird, Zygmunt Krauze, Joanna Bruzdowicz, and Juliusz Łuciuk. Although the aforementioned compositions are characterized by cyclic form and similar time of origin – the sixties and seventies of the 20th century – their authors represent diverse and distinct tendencies of exploration marked with highly individualized musical language. Each cycle is distinguished by different performing ensembles and lyrics of poetic significance in such languages as Polish, Old French or Malay. This variety of musical trends, ensembles and the lyrics brings into existence four separate sound creations.
