By decision of the Award Committee, Professor Zygmunt Krauze has been named this year’s winner of the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ category at the 25th anniversary edition of the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award.
For many years, the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award statuettes have been presented to the most outstanding figures in Polish culture. The Lifetime Achievement Award honours artists who have left an indelible mark on the history of Polish culture. Among them were, amongst others, Danuta Szaflarska and Jan Kobuszewski – outstanding actors with extraordinary stage charisma; Tadeusz Konwicki – a perceptive writer and director; as well as Erwin Axer and Andrzej Łapicki – prominent figures in the theatre world. The list of laureates also includes outstanding musicians: Jerzy Maksymiuk and Piotr Paleczny, whose achievements have been recognised both at home and abroad.
The awards will be presented during a gala ceremony at the Polish Theatre in Warsaw on 27 September.
