On 21 August 2026, in Bucharest, Zygmunt Krauze was presented with the George Enescu Medal, awarded by the Romanian Minister of Culture. The citation read: “in recognition of your outstanding contribution to the growth, impact and artistic prestige of both the George Enescu International Competition and Festival, as well as for your remarkable role in promoting Romanian culture, George Enescu’s legacy and Romanian music in Poland and internationally.”
